Valentine's Day Hospital Wedding Day...Father of Bride makes good on his promise!

He looked over at his little girl. Tears in his eyes. This was the moment they’d both been dreaming about for so long. Paul had always promised Grace he’d be there on her wedding day. For years Paul was dedicated to serving the public as a police officer, strong and ready to help. Today he’s recovering from a recent brain surgery and battling cancer. He has to find a new source of strength, his body may be weak but Paul’s spirit is so strong! When his family found out about his diagnosis, his daughter Grace thought about her situation. She wasn’t planning on getting married this soon but she knew she wanted her father to be present on her very special day. While he was in the hospital the idea came to fruition. As soon the hospital staff got wind of this wonderful idea “a hospital wedding”, plans began to unfold! The story is told of many different UCHealth team members pulling together to give Grace and Christian a beautiful wedding at Poudre Valley Hospital. The florist is a hospital volunteer named Fran Culler, the cake was made by the niece of an oncology nurse, the makeup artist is a CNA named Jessica Purkal , the Chaplin Terry Skov who also works for PVH offered to officiate & I am a flight nurse/photographer. We are all employees of UCHealth and were willing to give our time and services to see their dreams become a reality. This isn’t the only amazing efforts made by this hospital system. For dinner the entire family was treated with steak and lobster, complete with a sparkling cider toast! Honestly it’s these little moments in your life that you’ll look back on and be proud of. I again want to say thank you and congratulations to this wonderful family who was so gracious and happy on this special day. I stopped taking photos and just watched as they laughed and told stories while enjoying dinner.
